1977 Independance
This country was created out of french samalia land. Djibouti decided to be a country of its own with good friendship. Neighbering the country of Ethiopia.
1998 Djibouti Soldiers Killing People
Soilders searching for rebel Gorillas the Aire Tribe opened fire a crowded slum distance of Djibouti. The Diplomats said that in addition to about 40 people being killed, another 50 were severly wounded.
1998 Mine Ben Treaty
Djibouty voted in favor of the 1992, 1997, and 1998 Pre Ban U.N General assembly resolution. Djibouti has signed and adressed to the 1980 U.N convention / Conventional Weapens(CCW) and its Protocal 2 on mines.
1999 Intergovernmental Authority on Development
Samali Land closed its borders with Djibouti and Deployed troops arround the Leyonda border crossing.
2002 U.S Millitary Trooping
Guelle said the U.S millitary asked last May to use Djibouti to train and acclimate Marines. About 500 Marines arrived druing the summer and plan to stay five to six months. They plan to stay beside the country and offshore.
